Discovery Weekend 2008

Friday, May 16th, and Saturday, May 17th

Come and see all that happens on Discovery Weekend!  All are invited to come – anyone interested in discovering more about being Episcopalian, and in learning from our fellow parishioners and sharing with newcomers.  And newcomers are especially invited!  We will discover together the history behind the way we do church (by way of an hysterically funny play starring people you will recognize) and the (almost) democratic process by which our church is governed.  We will learn about church doctrine and explore our Book of Common Prayer, and hear the history and legends of Grace.  We will talk about Church Sacraments, and the seasons and associated colors of the church year and try on all the fashionably churchy garb our priests and other ministers wear during services.  We will pray together in our distinctively Episcopal ways, and finally share the Lord’s Table. 

 And we will eat.  Did I mention that?  We will have a fabulous spaghetti dinner Friday evening, and breakfast and lunch are provided on Saturday.  So make plans today to join in a fun weekend.  Just call me, Vickie Robertson, at 409-739-3997, or Fr. Paul or Cathy at 409-762-9676. 

Tuition is $10 (scholarships are available).
